A little extra pipework may be worthwhile if it creates a far better position for comfort and neighbourly consideration.

Regular servicing helps identify these issues before they become disruptive or affect efficiency.

It is worth being cautious about quick fixes. An improvised cover, solid enclosure or dense planting immediately around the unit may muffle sound in one direction, but it can also starve the heat pump of air and compromise performance. Any acoustic treatment should be planned around the manufacturer’s required clearances and the system’s need to move a large volume of air.
